We finished another week – and it was a crazy week for me! There are some changes at my school since us LT’s can’t handle the 7th graders. It’s all our fault! But none of us are complaining. And we were told that they, no mention of who “they” actually are, do not want us to complain about the classes anymore. It would be too much for them to actually discipline some children. But it’s the norm here and we’re not experiencing anything different than the other high school boy teacher.
STAY TUNED!
We spent Friday at Hili Fun City – an amusement park here in Al Ain. It was really cheap to get in too – probably about $12 USD and the even more interesting thing was how cheap the food and snacks were! We spent about $1.40 on cotton candy! That would be easily $10 in the states! So it was a good day had by all! We went with the Oliver’s and ran into another family about an hour into the park. So we all hung out together and even the adults rode a few rides! Reminded us we’re not young anymore!
We’re going to start a countdown soon of when we have our first set of visitors!!!! Can’t wait!
The weather here is starting to warm up! It was about 87 today! But tomorrow the high is around 73. So it reminds me of February/March back home when Mother Nature can’t decide if it should warm up or not! I just don’t want to think of May, June, and July here! OUCH!
BREAKING NEWS: Cole FINALLY has a loose tooth! Let’s hope it falls out soon! I’m sure tomorrow Miss Sara will tell us that all he did that day is play with his tooth!!!
This is an Omani hat (from Oman). The kids just love when I put these things on. They all take out their phones and take photos. I'm sure they put them on facebook and talk all kinds of trash!
Sports Day!
The kids had sports day this week!
They played all sorts of relay games and even did the limbo!
The Al Ain Football Club - the local soccer field. We're going to get to a game soon inshallah! The line the street with flowers to match!
Caralyn, Cene, and Cole
Cole said this place was probably the funnest place on Earth!
Butterscotch icecream - not really what I thought butterscotch would look like.
Such an awesome photo!
They loved this ride! I love how there are two different ways they spell it!
Rod, Cole, and I rode the adult version of the ride above!
Mike, Rod, and I rode this ride - never again.
The BBQ-Toilet - really?
Joey and Cole on the bumper boats.
I couldn't resist this photo. These guys must have the least desirable job! They were smoothing out the edges to the bricks to lay down.
We went with the Olivers and ran into The Menichinis and spent the day with them.
THUNDER BOLT!
Jennifer, Colleen, and Kesha rode this. There were three people on the ride, and sounded like 20 from all the screams!
Cole got an injury! He was in such a hurry he grabbed the belt which had a lock on the end and it hit him right under his eye! A local Emirati woman felt sorry for him and couldn't resist rubbing his face and head to make him feel better! Very sweet!
So this ride reminded me of an old photo I've seen of my sister, Frannie, before I was born at some carnival type place. These "cycles" are circa 1970 for sure!
The UAE style water fountains. Even in schools, they look like this. I see kids either stick their head under it or use their hand to cup water to drink.
Sinbad's Farm - cute camel with her camel milk!
Can you tell Caralyn had enough?!?!
Caralyn's photo - Cole couldn't resist playing on the pole!
Today we went to a disco party at a neighbor's hosue! Loved this photo!
Here are some of Jennifer's foldables:
STAY TUNED!
